Arvid Veidmark III Brings Expertise to Trenchless Technologies

Senior Estimator and Executive Vice President, Arvid Veidmark III, was born into the company, working in and around SSC Underground since he was just 8 years old. With all this experience, he’s made more mistakes than anybody, the telltale signs of an expert.

As an expert in trenchless technology, Arvid and the team are passionate about educating the engineering, construction and ownership communities on what the best trenchless method for their specific project is. From the standpoint of budget, schedule, aesthetics, retention, safety, constructability and impact to the community, it is important to make the right decision on what the best option is for any undertaking.

When it comes to a trenchless project, there are many considerations to be had, requiring an expert to determine the right method to be used. With trenchless, we’re always going from point A to point B, and doing it blind until we get there because we’re relying on the geotechnical reports and plans showing other underground structures that are given to us, so taking a look at soil conditions, utility type, length location are some of the factors that drives the methodology used.

Arvid is using his expertise to help owners and designers make informed decisions through our consulting constructability arm, Trenchless Constructability & Design (TCD). This platform is a way to help people grow and understand what the limits of trenchless construction are, so that they can start out a project with a design that will be the best fit for them.
